After some soul-searching and motivation, I’ve decided to DIY as much as possible so that I can have the car I want. Besides, even if I invest another grand, It will only be a $2500 car - what I would have spent on an FB RX-7. Now I’m just waiting for my technician to check it out, and give me a checklist of what it needs to pass safety. The real work starts next week.

I'm in the same boat with the vic, I could dump it for another car, or finish what I started and save money.

Finish what you started. Do it for the sake of barges.

I’m the same way with the SHO man. I’m too invested in it, monetarily and emotionally to part with it now. Eventually it will die, but when it does, the engine is still going to find a new home in my Crapri.

Head gasket and the rail are the big ones.

Yeah, but it may not be on the way out. I might have just needed to blow out the carbon.

Did the car sit for a little while?

I can say with almost 100% certainty that the “white smoke” was condensation built up in the engine, exhaust, etc.

Excellent. This is much better than I had anticipated.

Yeah, when I fire up my stuff after sitting for the winter they always puff out condensation for a little while. Sometimes water droplets even drip out the exhaust.

Let me know when you’re working on it! I’ll drop by and lend a hand.

Is it normal to have enough white mist coming out the exhaust that it looks like someone poured 1/8th of a can of seafoam into the intake manifold vacuum line?

Will do. It’s getting a first inspection next week, and from there I’m going to keep everyone posted.

If you’re still looking for a bumper, this guy might sell you one.

Tough to say.

One year I had it so bad I ended up doing a coolant pressure test to make sure everything was OK.

It's fairly thick, so it might be condensation. It started to tail off after 10 minutes of running.

If it’s a day I’m not working, I should probably be able to come help as well.
